Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School District

MLKAP & Community Service

Welcome to the Martin Luther King Action Project Website!

MLK Action Project is LS's social justice arm which both oversees student community service and offers opportunities for students to create their own projects with the support of adults and other students.

Community Service

Each student at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School is required to perform a minimum of 15 hours of community service from the summer following 8th grade to the start of 12th grade. The community service requirement may be satisfied by participation in a single activity or a combination of activities.

Students may view the link below for a list of pre-approved activities and providers.

They may also look at the physical bulletin board near the MLK office in the C300s. Any activities not listed in these places must get pre-approval or they might not be counted.
ONLY MLK COORDINATORS CAN APPROVE A PROJECT
(not the organizations that you volunteer for).

Students may also propose their own community service projects but must get pre-approval from the MLKAP office to ensure that credit
will be given. See below for a link to the Program of Studies, which has a comprehensive guide for what types of activities do and do not count.

Hours must be turned in within 90 days after the (first*) day of service, or they will not be accepted.

*If service is ongoing, turn in EVERY 90 DAYS (in waves): so 90 days from the beginning of each period.
