L-S Music Department Calendar 2023-24  

• Unless indicated otherwise, all concerts & dress rehearsals are in the L-S Auditorium and start at 7:30PM with call time at 6:30PM.

Sept. 1 through 8th- Sign up for Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combos & Chamber Groups during class rehearsals.

Sept. 11 - 18th- Pit Orchestra sign ups/audition sign ups for LSB Players fall musical posted in the music hallway. Auditions as needed.  Rehearsals begin Wed. Sept. 27 in the band room.

Wed. Sept. 13  Back to School Night Student-run small ensembles & soloists perform throughout the school, 6-8:30pm (Community Service Hours Available) Sign ups posted  in the music hallway.

Thurs. & Fri. Sept. 21 & 22  Jazz Combo Auditions, after school. Sign ups posted in the music hallway.

Mon. Oct. 9 Chamber Singers Potluck, 7:00 PM (location TBD)

Sat. Oct. 14  Mattress Sale Fundraiser, Cafe 10AM-4PM (Community Service Hours Available for all music students!)

Sat. Nov. 4th MMEA Eastern District Senior Festival Auditions at Milton HS.  L-S Audition time (tentatively 1:05pm)

Wed.- Sun November 15, 16, 17, 18,  - LSB Fall Musical - 7:30PM start

Wed. Nov. 22 Senior Citizen’s Thanksgiving Luncheon, Symphonic & Concert Jazz Ensembles, 12:00- 1:30PM (Community Service Hours Available)

Mon. Dec 11  Pops Concert Dress Rehearsal 6-8:30PM. (Concert & Symphonic Bands, Orchestra, Concert Choir) + Cider & Donut Social for students!

Thu. Dec. 14  Pops Concert: Concert & Symphonic Bands, Orchestra, Concert Choir 6:00PM call, 7:30PM Start.  (Photos for yearbook prior to the concert)

Wed. Dec 20  Concert Choir Holiday Informal Concert, @ A-B connector, 11AM-12:30PM, (block 7)

Fri.-Sat. Jan. 5-6 (Snow date 7th) Senior District Festival (9-12 Grade) @ Milton High School. Boston Latin School 7AM-5PM

Thurs. Jan 11th  Cabaret in Cafe  (6:30) 7:30PM Start (A capella groups, vocal soloists, Symphonic & Concert Jazz Ensembles, Jazz Combos) Tix $5

Fri-Sat March 22-23  All-State Music Festival, rehearsal 22nd in Worcester (Mechanics Hall, the Hilton Garden Inn, or the DCU Convention Center), concert 23rd @ Symphony Hall

Tues-Wed March 26-27 Conservatory Block Ensembles will NOT meet. (MCAS days)  Rehearsal on Thursday March 28th instead.

Thurs. April 4 Jazz Night Concert With Special Guests: Curtis Jazz Band & Lincoln Jazz Band, 7:00PM start, 6pm call (Concert & Symphonic Jazz Ensembles and Jazz Combos)

Sat. April 27- Music Department Festivals of Music Performance at Six Flags  (All Music Students invited, Choir, Orchestra,  and Combined Bands

Thurs. May 2nd  Chamber Concert, 7pm, Black Box, (String Quartets, Violin Ensemble, Flute Choir, Chamber Singers)

Wed. May 8- Spring Instrumental Dress Rehearsal: Orchestra, Symphonic and Concert Bands, 6:30-8:30PM  ( tentative date- depends on town meeting finishing on Tues.)

Thurs. May 9  Spring Instrumental Concert: Orchestra, Concert & Symphonic Bands, 7:30PM, 6:30PM call

Sat. May 11  Community Sing Orchestra Rehearsal, 10AM-12PM in A211 the Chorus Room
Mon. May 13  Community Sing Dress Rehearsal, 7:00-8:30 PM

Thu. May 16 Choral Concert and Community Sing, 6:30PM call, 7:30PM start
