The Peer Leader course allows students to explore leadership and peer mentoring within the Lincoln and Sudbury public schools. Students are responsible for obtaining an internship at the elementary, middle or high school level. Students will devote a minimum of 2 hours a week to their internship. As part of this course, students will also receive training in developmental psychology, educational theory as well as any other training their internship site mandates.
General Information about course:
This program is designed like an independent study. The expectation is that the peer leader set up all interviews and follow up meetings. Most communications occur with the Peer Leader Coordinator via google classroom. So, check google classroom regularly.
This is a one credit, pass/fail course. Peer Leader has no set block. Students set their schedules by their free blocks. So, some may be going to their internship once a week while others may go twice a week or more.
