Turtle Count

During the spring of 2010, a group of us went to reservation land in Sudbury with a forest leader to count turtles. Counting and tracking turtles in the wilderness helps scientists determine the health of the ecosystem of certain animal populations in the area, as well as the effect of invasive species of plants and animals and human effects on the local ecosystem. We learned a lot about our ecosystem and efforts to preserve natural areas in our region and had a great time that afternoon!
