The following scholarships are funded by families and local organizations that are not part of the Lincoln-Sudbury Scholarship Fund. Please complete the Application Cover Sheet and indicate which scholarships you are applying for.  Applications are due APRIL 5, 2019 in the Superintendent’s Office.

Scholarship Application for Community Scholarships 2019

WALLY BELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS – Three to five scholarships are awarded from monies raised at the Basketball Bonanza in March.  Awards are based on academics, need, community and school activities, participation in paid or volunteer work and maturity.  A 15-minute interview with a panel of teachers from the SEA is required. Applicants must have attended Sudbury public schools (K-8) for at least three years.

PAULA MARIE DANFORTH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – Awarded to a student who has shown the most improvement between his/her junior and senior years and plans to pursue a career in a social service or medical field.  

FRIENDS OF SUDBURY WRESTLING SCHOLARSHIP – This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who participated in either the Sudbury Youth Wrestling program or was a member of the L-SRHS Wrestling team.  Applicants must write an essay describing the influence that wrestling has had on the applicant’s life.   Student may address issues such as how wrestling has shaped the past and how it may affect the applicant’s future.

HONEY DEW DONUTS SCHOLARSHIP – Awarded to a deserving college-bound senior in the Class of 2019.  

LINCOLN SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE AWARDS – These scholarships are for Lincoln resident seniors only.  These need-based scholarships are awarded after all other financial awards and options have been explored.  The Lincoln Scholarship Committee also offers the Sumner Smith Community Service Scholarship and the Fanny S. Campbell Academic Scholarship, the Ogden Codman Trust Scholarships and the Ogden Codman Trust Opportunity Scholarship.  Applications are delivered to each Lincoln Senior’s house mailbox, as well as being available in the Lincoln Library, online on the Lincoln Town website, and in the Superintendent’s Office.

LINCOLN SUDBURY YOUTH BASEBALL SCHOLARSHIP – Each spring, LS Baseball awards one or more college scholarships to graduating seniors who have participated in our programs.  Seniors at LS, as well as other high schools, are eligible and do not need to be a member of your high school baseball team to earn a scholarship.  Scholarships are awarded to those seniors who benefited and learned from participation in LS Baseball, LS Youth Baseball, Sudbury Little League, and/or Babe Ruth Baseball.  The LS Baseball Scholarship Committee is focused on those students who have demonstrated a meaningful commitment in support of LS Baseball, other youth sports programs, or other service-oriented activities.  Interested seniors can access the application and instructions:

MIDDLESEX SAVINGS BANK SCHOLARSHIP – This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Sudbury who had a GPA of at least 3.0, a commitment to community service, and who has had the courage and perseverance to significantly improve their academic performance and make positive changes to their life.

SUDBURY COMMUNITY ARTS CENTER SCHOLARSHIPS – Three scholarships will be awarded to seniors who have demonstrated achievement in the fields of art, drama or music.

SUDBURY GARDEN CLUB SCHOLARSHIPApplicants must be accepted by at least one school or internship program with the intent to study horticulture, conservation, forestry, landscape, floral design or environmental science, or some aspect of nutrition.  Applicants must be Lincoln-Sudbury seniors or L-S graduates currently enrolled in a college program.

SUDBURY PERMANENT FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION/MATTHEW O. BARDSLEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – Applicants must have a “B” average or better, plan to attend an accredited college or university and submit a 250-word essay on the topic: “What do you consider to be a problem with the world today and how will your education enable you to contribute to a solution?”  Preference will be given (but is not limited) to students seeking a career in fire science, public service and/or who is a child of a firefighter.  The essay must be submitted with the general application and will be judged on: addressing the question, composition and grammar, and sincerity.

SUDBURY PIZZA – Sudbury Pizza provides a scholarship for a deserving L-S senior who has engaged in community service in the Towns of Sudbury or Lincoln.

SUDBURY POLICE SCHOLARSHIP – The Sudbury Police Association awards a scholarship to a deserving L-S senior who shows an interest in or is pursuing a career in public safety and service.  


Sudbury Youth Football and Cheer, will be awarding at least two scholarships for students who have participated in SYFC. To be considered, for this scholarship students should have continued within LS football/cheer as either a player, mascot, assistant and/or has assisted with SYFC teams during their HS career minimally for one class year or season.  Please go directly to the SYFC site for Scholarship requirements at


The scholarship, for $1000 in 2019, will be granted to a graduating LSRHS senior who demonstrates, through academic and extracurricular interests and activities, commitment to Sustainable Sudbury’s mission: raising environmental awareness and sponsoring sustainable, earth-friendly activities in our community and beyond. Sustainable Sudbury reserves the right, should no outstanding candidate apply, to re-issue the award to a past recipient.  Candidates should submit a short statement (a few paragraphs) on why they think they deserve this scholarship, what their plans are after graduating from LSRHS, and how this is relevant to Sustainable Sudbury’s mission. You do not necessarily need to be studying environmental sciences. Sustainable Sudbury defines its mission broadly and will consider applications from students in many fields as long as they can demonstrate commitment to the mission.
