Winter Class Descriptions
BRIDGE PLAY – PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!
Bridge players of all abilities are welcome to enroll to play bridge & practice your skills with successful tournament player and bridge teacher Muggsie Rocco, who will give a mini-lesson each week, then stay while you play to answer questions as you go. To enroll, you should already know the fundamentals of bridge. While this is a fantastic opportunity for newer players to gain some valuable practice under the guidance of a seasoned teacher, more experienced players are also invited to play in a friendly, no-pressure setting with new friends and old. Bring a partner if you have one; singles are welcome and will be paired up in class.
SAT MATH with LSRHS Math Teacher Chris Stanek
The goal of this course is to practice the types of questions that will be asked on the SATs, and also to reveal test-taking strategies designed to raise students’ scores. SAT review books will be provided, and are included in the price of the course. This class prepares students to take the winter or spring SAT exams.
Tai Chi Chuan is a moving form of yoga and meditation. The traditional Yang style long-form Tai Chi consists of a sequence of movements that derive from the martial arts. Practice of Tai Chi develops balance, centeredness, alignment, flexibility and the strength and ability to move smoothly and precisely. Instructor Dr. Cheng-Jih Li studied martial arts in college, with further studies in Tai Chi, Tai Chi Sword, Kung-Fu and Ai-Ki Do under several Masters in Taiwan & the US.
