Second to last week of school update
Posted on 06/16/2022

Dear LS Students, Families, and Staff,

Last day of classes for grades 9, 10, and 11 was yesterday and end of term assessments began and are underway today.  This remains a busy time for all of us as we head toward the last day of school for students on June 22.

Congratulations to gr 9, 10, and 11 students who were recognized for a range of academic and artistic learning awards Thursday, July 10.  Thank you to our students who treated us to yet another excellent drama performance in the annual student-directed COLLAGE event, a compendium of short plays.  Thank you to the junior class for sponsoring our final Fun Friday event of the year!  And to our ninth graders for a successful dance that same evening.

A reminder that this Monday is Juneteenth and there is no school.  We had a special commemoration of Juneteenth in the AB Courtyard yesterday afternoon.  We thank our student speakers and musicians and faculty/admin organizers for a thoughtful program.  Tessa Kaneene of the Harvard JFK School of Government offered keynote remarks preceded by Sudbury Town Manager Henry Hayes.

I also wanted you to know that we have several athletic teams remaining in post-season competitions!

Girls Lacrosse Semi-Finals at 6:30 pm at Natick High School today (Thursday) vs. Westwood.

Boys Lacrosse Semi-Finals at 12:30 pm at Burlington High School on Saturday vs. BC High.

Girls Rugby State Championship Finals at 2 pm at Curry College on Saturday vs. Belmont.

Girls Tennis, State Championships, starting at 9 am at the DuPont Tennis Courts at MIT in Cambridge on Saturday vs. Lexington.

Go to LS Athletics Website for ticket information.

Sincerely,

Bella Wong
