Dear Ninth Grade Students, Parents & Guardians:
I welcome you to Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School! L-S is a vibrant learning community where students are treated in a way that is caring and thoughtful. I'm confident that you will enjoy, and be challenged by, your experience at L-S.
You will receive your schedule, ID number, house assignment and counselor assignment in mid-August.
Each house is led by an Associate Principal. The Associate Principals serve an invaluable role in helping students and parents as well as supervising the teaching and learning that happens in our classrooms. Please do not hesitate to contact your Associate Principal directly if you have any questions regarding the new school year.
The schedule for the opening week of school can be found at:
https://www.lsrhs.net/families/school_start_up/opening_week_schedule.
School will begin for ninth graders only on Tuesday, August 31st and will be a full day. Students should gather on the athletic fields at 8:25 a.m. After an introductory meeting with the Associate Principals and myself, students will be divided into small groups for our ninth grade orientation program, L-S First Adventure. Faculty and staff members, as well as older students, will be guiding ninth graders through a series of team-building exercises which will introduce them to our school's culture, history and expectations, and provide an opportunity for questions to be answered.
School pictures will also be taken on this day.
Following the First Adventure program, students will have lunch and will meet with their Associate Principal, then they will attend classes on a shortened schedule. The school day will end at 3:15. Bus transportation will be provided.
Ninth grade parents are invited to a meeting on Thursday September 9 at 7:00 p.m. This will give parents an opportunity to meet the Associate Principals, House Assistants and House Counselors, and ask any questions about the transition to high school.
Parents & Guardians, I invite you to send us a one-page statement about your child. It is an opportunity for you to share with us those characteristics that you believe are important for us to know as we begin our work with him or her. This may include learning style, strengths and weaknesses or particular interests. The statement will be read only by me and your child's Associate Principal and Counselor. Please send the statements by mail or email (
[email protected]) before the start of the school year. If you include your email address in your letter, you will get a brief note in return letting you know that we received your comments.
Once again, I would like to welcome you to Lincoln-Sudbury. If you have any questions, please call the school at (978) 443-9961 x2370. I look forward to greeting you!
Sincerely,
Bella T. Wong
