Dear LS Students, Families, and Staff,
Supported by the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Schools (DESE) a free Pfizer vaccination clinic will be available at Curtis Middle School on June 9 and June 30th for individuals who are 12+ years in age. Preregistration is required. Individuals may use the clinic for second dose only or for first and second dose. Please see attached flyer for additional information. This flyer is being shared with Lincoln Public School, Sudbury Public School and Lincoln Sudbury School communities.
I also wrote to inform you that DESE released updated guidance yesterday applicable for the remainder of this school year and in advance for the fall. For the remainder of this school year after May 29, all outdoor mask requirements related to schools are lifted. Adults are no longer required to wear masks outdoors if less than 6 feet distanced from students. Masks in outdoor spaces are still recommended for any individual who is not vaccinated. Distancing of 3 feet is still recommended if feasible. Mask wearing indoors for schools is still required. Distancing requirements for indoor school spaces remain the same.
For the fall, in person learning five days a week will be required in all MA schools. Remote learning as a standard option will no longer be offered. Noting the guidance for the fall I strongly advise that individuals identify and take advantage of any opportunity to vaccinate. DESE guidance is attached for your further reference.
Sincerely,
Bella Wong
