Thanksgiving 2019

A Few Thanksgiving Thanks and Wishes
Posted on 12/01/2019
Dear LS Staff, Students, and Families,

The parking lot is not yet empty so I know there are a few more souls left in the building beside myself! The last few weeks have been very full and there is much to be thankful for here at Lincoln Sudbury on the cusp of Thanksgiving Day. Here are just a few things to share with you as I finish the last bites of pie from our annual MLK luncheon for local seniors from Lincoln and Sudbury.

Be More Chill! What an incredible experience it was to enjoy all that raw talent on the stage, in the pit and back stage. Who would have thought ‘Michael In The Bathroom’ could ever become a catchy tune? If you missed that, I am truly sorry. It was a really fun time.

Our student athletes continue to set an amazingly high bar at the end of another extraordinarily successful season of high-level performance both during and post-season. They give us so much to cheer and be proud of but one special thing I hear year after year are the comments about the sportsmanship of our students that come to me from non-LS observers as well. This is especially notable when our students are confronted with less than sportsmanlike conduct from their opponents. We have one last championship game this season to root on – Boys Football, December 6 at Gillette Stadium.

While you are looking at your calendars I really hope you will make time to attend this important safety event, “Vaping and Our Kids: An Evening with Experts.” This educational panel is scheduled for 7:30 to 9:00 pm on December 4 in the LS Auditorium and is open to the entire community. We are grateful to the joint caring community sponsorship of Sudbury League of Women Voters and Connections. The 2018 MetroWest Adolescent Health Survey results tell us that over 42% of our students tried vaping products over their lifetime and 30% had used the product in the prior 30 days of the survey.

Sending you warm wishes for your Thanksgiving Holiday.

Sincerely,
Bella Wong
