EEE Info and Preventative Measures
Posted on 09/06/2019
Dear LS Students and Families,

I am writing to let you know that Lincoln Sudbury has been working with the Sudbury Health Department regarding the threat of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) virus. Over the summer, the Sudbury Health Department has monitored mosquito traps in Sudbury and coordinated with the East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project (EEMCP) to target spraying to areas with high populations of mosquitos. Information regarding the Mosquito Project and spraying schedules can be found on the EEMCP website

You can find more information on EEE, precautions, and communications on these websites: CDC, Sudbury Board of Health, and

Preventative spraying for mosquitos specifically at LS will take place next week. We are very appreciative of these proactive efforts made on our behalf by the Health Department.I will provide you exact dates and times when I receive that information. Other preventative measures to mitigate risk have been implemented as follows.

1. Home evening games have been re-scheduled for daytime hours.
2. No school practices or activities will take place on the fields after dusk.
3. No school activities will take place in the woods at this time without further notice.
4. Insect repellent will be made available for use for any school activities on the field.

Students may wish to take additional precautions by dressing in long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and socks, applying mosquito repellent to clothing and carrying mosquito repellent towelettes or non-aerosol lotions to self-apply at school as appropriate.

We continue to coordinate with town and county authorities and will provide updates as information becomes available.
