PROJECT GOALS

This project has two goals:

1. To learn about the layout of a typical Roman villa or villa rustica from the 1st century AD (1st century CE).

2. To create a model, poster, or booklet of your ideal villa.

PROJECT FEATURES

ROOMS/ARCHITECTURAL FEATURES: Label the rooms and architectural features along with a short explanation of what they were used for.

HOUSEHOLD GOD: Choose a Roman god/godess who is the protector of your house and explain why you chose him or her.

MOTTO: Create a simple Latin sentence or phrase that expresses the motto of your family.

ARTWORK: Choose 5 examples of ancient Roman art (3 BCE-4 CE, or 3 BC-4 AD) to decorate your villa. Vary your selection and use no more than 2 of any type.
