Dear Members of the LS Community,
Plummeting temperatures coinciding with the end of first quarter and early college application deadlines remind us that, yes, we are well into fall and a quarter of a way through the school year! Over 400 students participated across 19 sports teams. Congratulations to all of our teams that made it into post-season which has now finished with just a few runners scheduled to compete in this weekend’s sectional championships in Wrentham! A particular shout-out to the LS Football team who is having an amazing post-season and will be playing on Friday night with an opportunity to advance to the Super Bowl!
Our student leaders did a great job leading table presentations and discussions across topics of importance highlighted in the MetroWest Adolescent Health Survey Report shared with the community on October 11. Next week we will be represented by MVP students and Lori Hodin at the Middlesex Partnerships for Youth Conference entitled “Gender on the Agenda: The Socialization of Girls and Boys in a Culture of Violence.” On November 15-18. we look forward to the musical production of Secret Garden starring student actors, musicians, dancers and technicians. November 20 we invite the community to attend our school-wide Art Opening and Gallery Walk. We will be unveiling several arge scale pieces of work including our Project LS mural reflecting the brush work of over 200 students!
May this news of our student accomplishments bring you a warm feeling!
In a few hours I will be departing with students for a 10 day WWII/Cold War European Tour traveling through the cities of Berlin, Dresden, Prague, Krakow and Budapest leaving the school in the able hands of the administrative team and staff!
