Do you love science? Do you have a spirit of competition? Do you like to hang out with interesting people? Join the Department of Energy Science Bowl team. Team membership involves attending a weekly practice and participating in the annual regional science bowl competition in March. The senior class will be hosting a school-wide dance on Friday, September 28th from 7:30-10:00 in the cafeteria. After you’re done cheering on the football team, come on up to the school and enjoy the first dance of 2018. The cost is $5. No bags or bottles of any kind with all allowed.

Sudbury Youth Basketball is accepting applications for L-S students interested in coaching a boys’ or girls’ youth basketball team. Key criteria include related work experience with kids, basketball experience, demonstrated responsibility/organization/maturity, communication skills and a committed group of 3-4 LS students (typically 11th and 12th graders). If interested in submitting an application, please go to the SYB website, www.sudburybasketball.com/, and complete the LS Student Application to Coach form found under the “Coaching Application 2018” tab by October 2nd. Open Gym Schedule: A gym is open for basketball Mon, Tues, Thurs and Friday from 11:40 to 2:20 and every ACA. Please feel free to come down and play a pickup game of ball. Proper footwear is required. If you have any questions, please see a Wellness teacher.
The MLK Action Project is sponsoring a community service trip to the Greater Boston Food Bank on Wednesday, November 7. The bus will leave from the LS flagpole at 12:40 and return to the LS parking lot no later than 5:00 pm. Volunteers will receive 3 hours of community service credit.
All are welcome! Sign up via email no later than Monday, November 5 to Tracy_Burke@lsrhs.net. Once you sign up, you will receive an e-permission slip which must be signed by a parent/guardian and returned before you can volunteer at the food bank.
