Career Speaker Series

Our guest at the Career Speaker session on Friday, March 31st, will be Marcia Ackley, a civil engineer who will be available to talk with students about the engineering field.On Friday, April 7th, our guest speaker will be Jeanne Rosier-Smith, a professional working Artist whose studio is in Sudbury and whose work is in collections on five continents.Everyone is welcome to these sessions that take place during the lunch block on Fridays in the Career Center from 11 AM – 12:30 PM. Stay for as long as you can, bring your lunch, and have some refreshments!

Computer Courses

FELS Event Breaking News: Journalism and Democracy in the 21st Century

The featured topic this year is Breaking News: Journalism and Democracy in the 21stC. The evening will feature a slate of educators and journalists from a variety of media, discussing the current state of professional journalism, the multiple media outlets from which readers, watchers and listeners have their news delivered, how media literacy is challenged today, and how the First Amendment’s guarantee for a free press is upheld in this new era of journalism. The panelists will offer grassroots, state, national and global perspectives. They will exchange thoughts on the rapidly changing media landscape, how it offers many opportunities and also poses many challenges.Tickets are $10 at the door. L-S Jazz Fest March 30th

L-S Jazz Fest March 30thThe L-S music department presents Jazz Fest 2017 on Thursday March 30th at 7:00pm in the L-S Auditorium. Featured groups include the L-S Jazz Combos and Big Bands with special guests the Curtis Select Jazz Band and the Lincoln Jazz Band. Admission is free, experiencing live music is priceless.

LS Global Scholars Program

Class of 2020: If you are interested in learning more about the LS Global Scholars Program, please attend an informational session during ACA (12:45-1:20PM) Wednesday, March 28th in C371. The purpose of the program is to encourage students to attain a level of competency, knowledge, and empathy in the global context. Sudbury Youth Basketball Scholarship

Sudbury Youth Basketball (SYB) will again award scholarships to graduating Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School seniors who have played or coached in SYB**. Playing on the high school basketball team is not a requirement to apply for a scholarship. Award winners will be announced at the L-S Senior Awards Ceremony.To be considered for an SYB scholarship, please fill out the “Scholarship Form” by clicking on the menu tab at the top of the SYB home page at www.sudburybasketball.com. What is sneaker prom? A fun night out to wear your MOST COMFY, FUNKIEST SNEAKERS and semi-formal attire! SMILE Mass, an organization whose mission is to help families raising children and adults with disabilities create happy memories, is organizing this FUN event for Friday, March 24, at Curtis Middle School (7-9pm). High school students through adults of ALL abilities are welcome to attend. Cost is $20 (caregivers are free) and light snacks will be available. Junior Prom Tickets

Boston Food Bank Trip

Come volunteer at the Boston Food Bank during LS Project Activity Week! The MLK Action Project will sponsor this trip on Wednesday, March 29. Community Scholarships for Class of 2017

Applications are available for Community Scholarships for the Class of 2017 on the LS website and in house offices. www.lsrhs.net/sites/counseling/community-scholarships/The Community Scholarships are provided by community organizations that wish to support LS students in their pursuit of further education. With one application you may be considered for multiple scholarships. The deadline for submitting applications is APRIL 10th, 2017. Submit to Mrs. Zingale in the Superintendent’s Office.
