Images and Video

You need Quicktime and Movie Player to play movies down loaded off the internet. If you do not have these applications they are available from Apple free of charge. Please download them by clicking on the highlighted name, before trying to work with images in this section. It will hopefully alleviate any frustration before it happens. Helpful plug-in for Netscape 4.0 or higher.

The Developmental Mouse This a two minute video that I made showing embryological mouse development. All of the video clips and stills, were downloaded off of the internet. This is an example of what you can do to design specific curriculum materials to meet the needs of your individual classroom.
The Urbana Atlas of Pathology If you want a picture of a diseased body parts they've got it. The first page has a thumb nail of the image that you can enlarge if need be. Well worth a visit.
Largenet this is the medical image directory at Johns Hopkin's Medical. It has EVERYTHING. It was overwhelming the first time I tried to just brows. Much better if you have a specific topic that you need an image of. Listed Alphabetically
Project Dermatology Online Atlas - I think this speaks for itself.
Medical Information Server at The University of Calgary This is an enmormous list of internet resources in medicine. If you are having students write papers, give reports or present projects. Simply give them this address and turn them loose. Each address leads to dozens more. It is the exact morass that I am trying to avoid. In all fairness if you have the time or a specific medical research topic in mind this is the place for you.

Software and Simulations

Bionet Software Compendium Has interesting biology and biomedical simulations. Many of them run on PC's. You can download them (late nights recommended). I am planning to check some of them out and will recommend them or not as the case may be.
