Downloadable Articles These are articles that make good outside reading assignments. They have been downloaded from a variety of sources; science journals, business periodicals, and newspapers. They are easy reading and most students find them interesting. I typically have students write a one page opinion paper about the articale that they have read. I have tried to arrange the articles by topic, but there may be some over lap.

Important Note: The articles may need to be reformatted. To do this open the document using Netscape and save it as text. This will allow you the articles out on almost any printer.

- Access Excellence - Resource for high school biology teachers with classroom activities, weekly science updates, teacher message boards and more. This is an excellent place to get articles for weekly reaings. Many of the downloadable articles on this page have come from this source. It is well worth the time to register at the Teachers Lounge. I have gotten great materials from other teachers that I have immediately been able to use in my classroom. I highly recommend the Resource Center. While it is the kind of place that you can get lost in, it has a wonderful array of resources.

Opinions, Opinions
These are two chat boards that discuss the ethical issues surrounding biotechnology. They make a good forum for your students to discuss ethica issues with others.

- Human Muscular Dissection Demo This walks you through simulated dissections of the human muscle systems. Well scripted . Images take a while to down load, but it makes for a nice tutorial. The introduction screen tell you about Gold Standard Multimedia Inc. CD-ROM of images is available through them.
