ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
Semester course - 2 credits
Open to: 9- 12
Prerequisite: Two years of science or the approval of the instructor
This course offers students the opportunity to explore
current environmental
problems. Activities include lectures, outside speakers, field
trips, and student
presentations. Topics covered are in large part determined by
current issues in
both local and regional newspapers. Most recently these topics
have included
global warming, rainforest preservation, open space planning in
Sudbury and local
protection of endangered species and habitats. Grades are a reflection
of test
scores, quality of assigned papers and projects, participation
in all class activities,
and class attendance.
