Application for Scholarships and Awards
The Department annually recommends members of the Senior Class for two awards. The Lincoln Historical Society Award is given for general excellence and interest in history and the social sciences. The Wayside InnChapter DAR award is similar but based in American history alone. Both are based in part on grades and acceptance at a four year college.
This application suffices for both awards and scholarships.

1. Please attach a copy of a letter of acceptance from a college.
2. Please attach a copy of your current L/S transcript. There must be no Inc. or Z grades. You must have at least a B average overall. You must have at least a B+ average in all courses which carry history credit.
3. Please attach a description of the activities you have been involved in which evince an ongoing interest in history or special interest in American history. These activities may involve programs at L/S or elsewhere. They may be purely academic or social in nature. In each case, please be sure to indicate the relationship of the activity to history, and to provide the name of a person to contact.
4. All applications are confidential. The decision of the judges is final.
5. This application must be returned to the Department Coordinator by May 9, 2008.
6. The statements in and attached to this application are true and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief.
