Create an Article for Wikipedia
The process of research and creating an article for inclusion on Wikipedia is an interesting way to learn about wikis, netiquette, and copyright, among other things.
The Steps:
- Read Wikipedia's Guidelines for a first article
- Brainstorm possible article topics
- Search Wikipedia for those topics
- Decide on a topic about which there is not yet a Wikipedia article
- Send Jim an email with the following:
- Article Topic
- Something about the Wikipedia guidelines that surprised you
- Something about the Wikipedia guidelines that seemed obvious to you
- Research your topic
- Write an article with:
- Title
- Body Content
- References
- Links to other sites, if appropriate
- Images, if appropriate
