Creating Web Pages with Dreamweaver ™
Drag the Dreamweaver application from the Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 folder onto you dock.
Make a new page - select “Basic Page” and “HTML”.
Save the page as courses.html in your LastName_Site folder.
In the top left of the page you’ll see the Code/Split/Design buttons. If you choose the Code button, you’ll see the HTML (like from the last assignment). If you choose Design, you see what the page will look like. If you choose Split, you’ll see both.
- First, go to Modify->Page Properties in the menu. Give your page a background color, and choose the font and font color.
- Give your page the title “Your Name’s Courses”
- Make a page about your school schedule. Use a table (Insert->Table) to list your courses, teachers, etc. Describe your classes in non-negative terms.
- Make at least one link. Highlight the text you want to make a link and use the Properties window (use Window->Properties to show it) to make the link. You can link to an outside website by putting the full URL, for example: “http://www.lsrhs.net”
- Use several different text sizes and colors.
- Color individual cells in the table.
- Include a picture. First save the picture in your site folder, and then use Insert->Image to put it on the page.
To do more:
- Make or find a background image for your page.
- Put in an appropriate animation that you make with Fireworks.
- Make another page and link to that. You should put the file in the same folder and use the name of the file (for example, otherpage.html) as the link.
