Experimenting With iMovie™
This is an exercise to learn as much as you can about iMovie, before we actually begin shooting video.
You are going to make a movie from photos in your iPhoto library.
Your movie should include (rollover or hover over any of the following items to see an image of the iMovie menu you can use to create/add these objects to your movie):
- At least 15 pictures.
- At least 5 different transitions
- At least 5 different video effects
- At least one song imported AND
- sound effect from iMovie's library
If you don’t have any songs in your iTunes library, you can get one from my Public folder.
Make the song fade in and/or out. - A voice-over. Record your own voice over part of the movie.
- At least 5 different titles - some over black and some over the movie.
It doesn’t have to hold together as a movie - you’re just learning the program.

When you’re done, export several versions:
- Full DV - make sure this goes to ‘Shared’
- At least two “smaller” versions, one of which you will turn in. DONT turn in the full DV version.
