Collaborative Story

Click here to see our stories!

With a partner, create two 6-panel visual/illustrated stories using Fireworks. They can be in the style of a comic strip, picture book, graphic novel, cartoon, etc. Or one in one style and one in another.

Each story will have a theme. One story's theme will be Choices and the theme for the other story will be Responsibility.

  1. Each partner should start one of the stories (while the other partner is starting the other story) by creating the first page/frame/panel of the story using Fireworks. Do NOT discuss the story or the medium with your partner!
  2. Use photographs, drawings, paintings, shapes, text, and whatever else to tell your story.

You may use others' work (i.e., images from the Internet), however these must be cited and
A majority of the content of this project must be your original work!

  1. Once the first page/frame/panel has been completed by one of the partners, it should be passed to the second partner.
  2. The second partner will create the second (of 6, remember) part of the story without collaborating with the first partner, keeping the theme, storyline, content, and media as consistent as possible.
  3. Once the second partner has finished with the second page/frame/panel, the story goes back to the first partner for their addition of the third page/frame/panel.
  4. Etc.

Both people working on the stories should have something to do, as you alternate turns on two stories.

Panel 1
Panel 2
Panel 3
Panel 4
Panel 5
Panel 6
Story 1 (Choices) Person A Person B Person A Person B Person A Person B
Story 2 (Responsibility) Person B Person A Person B Person A Person B Person A

If you have time: Can you animate your story, as if the pages/panel turn themselves and remain visible for long enough that some could look at/read each one?

Each story should include:

Each partner should do their parts without input (except the already created pages/panels of the other) from their partner.

"I believe that we are solely responsible for our choices,
and we have to accept the consequences of every deed,
word, and thought throughout our lifetime.
