Assignment 4: Website Management
Starting with this assignment you will be keeping two copies
of your pages. You will have a local copy in your Sites folder and a mirror image of your folder published to the L-S website.
To do:
- Look in your Sites folder. If there is a file called index.html please
drag it to the trash.
- Open
up a dreamweaver document.
- In Dreamweaver, go to Site->Manage Site. Click New and select Site. Click on the Advanced
Tab. Type in [Your name] Site".
- Click Local Info and on the folder icon next to Local root folder and navigate to your home Sites folder.

- Next click on Remote Info. Set the access to FTP. Type in www.lsrhs.net for FTP host. Where it says Host directory - type in /Users/WebPublishing/Lastnamefirstinital
- (example: /Users/WebPublishing/WassermanB)
- For the login type in your server login name. (all lower case)Type in your password. Make sure you select "Use Secure FTP"

- Click on the Test button. If you are successful you should see.

- Your home page should be titled "default.html" and
should include links to all your other pages.
- To assign the homepage click on Site Map Layout and navigate to your default.html page within your Sites folder.

Your Site folder should have several pages:
- Your home page should be titled "default.html" and
should include links to all your other pages.
- Create a new page to record a log of the work you
do in the class. Call it "log.html" and make an entry for today.
It should include a link back to your main page.
- You should see all the other assignments in your Site
folder. Make sure each page has a link back to your home page.
- You may have to restablish some links.
