Assignment 10A: Creating PDF files

Using OS X it's easy to create Portable Document Format files. This type of file can be read on both the Macintosh and Windows Platforms as long as the user has Preview or Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on the computer.

1. Open a new Appleworks Word Processing document.

2. Select Window Show Tools. You are going to make a Mother's day card for your mom, grandmother, or a woman you are close to. You can type text on this document and bring in images. You you bring in images make sure the arrow is selected so you can place the image where you want.

3. You can gather images for the File - show clippings menu or you can get them from google (remember to give credit)

4. Once your document is completed - File Save As mom.cwk into your MY SITES folder (this keeps the original for editing purposes)

5. To create a PDF file- Select File - Print- Save As PDF- Name it mom.pdf and direct it to your Sites folder

6. Create a dreamweaver document - name it PDF.html. Type- Check out my Mother's Day Card. Select the Text and go to the link item in the Properties window and point to the mom.pdf file.
