Publishing Your Site

 

 

   Objective: You will be able to synchronize your local Sites folder and your website on the LSRHS web server, using Dreamweaver's automated FTP process.
 

The Steps

  1. Go the Window menu and select Files. In the diagram below are 2 important features. The Split screen and the Sites Menu. Click on the Split screen. Select your Site in the Local Files.
  2. Open the Sites Menu (top circle in diagram above).
  3. Select Synchronize. This is taking a copy of all your documents in the Sites Folder and placing them in a folder on the L-S web server. For the first time you will change the Synchronize to "Entire ..... Site". Then press Preview.
  4. You will get a list of documents that will be changed. Press OK.
  5. You do NOT need to save the log.

You will synchronize your site at the end of each class period.

Your website is now available for viewing by anyone with internet access. To view your website, open a browser and type: webpublishing.lsrhs.net/LastnameFirstinitial.
