pdf.html

Using OS X it's easy to create Portable Document Format files. This type of file can be read on both the Macintosh and Windows Platforms as long as the user has Preview or Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on the computer.

1. Open a new Pages word processing document.

2. You are going to make a card for someone in your family (Mother's Day is coming up... or a birthday or whatever you like). You can type text on this document and bring in images. DON'T FORGET -- if you use images that are not your own, you MUST cite the source.

3. You can make images or you can get them from the Internet.

4. Once your document is completed - File Save As "card.pages" into your lastname_firstinitial folder on the web server (this keeps the original for editing purposes)

5. To create a PDF file- Select File - Print- Save As PDF- Name it card.pdf and save it into your folder on the web server.

6. Create a link to the pdf version of your holiday card either directly on your assignment page, or on a new web page you create in dreamweaver - called PDF.html.
Type something like "Check out my Card". Select the Text and go to the link item in the Properties window and point to the card.pdf file just as you would to link to another web page.
