Policy & Expectations

Please read the following class policies very carefully and ask questions if you are unsure of any of the points listed below.

• Participation, cooperation, working well in a group, effective use of time, creative and technical growth, and fulfilling my potential, are the most important criteria for this class.


• Important material is presented at the beginning of most classes. it is important that I come to class on time so that I do not miss critical information or disrupt teacher presentations. Unexcused tardies and cuts will have a negative impact on my grade. Excess tardies will also result in behavior reports.


• Because I will be working in a group, it is very important that I not miss or cut classes, and I recognize that absences will hamper the rest of the group from effectively making progress.


• I will treat the other students, Mr. Kimura, the equipment, school materials, and school property with a respectful and responsible attitude.


• I will help maintain the equipment and workstations in the classroom - I will not leave my group or the classroom until the workstations are properly cleaned up, chairs returned to their proper place, and production equipment is put away.


• I will not have any food or drink at or under the workstations. I can have snacks at the main tables as long as I clean up afterwards.


• I will recycle my bottles and papers appropriately.


• I will let my teacher know where I am going before I leave the classroom. I understand that if a housemaster, guidance counselor or another teacher needs to speak to me, Mr. Kimura needs to know where I am and have some sense of when I will return.


• The handout packet is our “textbook” for this class; I will come to class prepared with this packet to take notes and to use as reference for activities and quizzes.
  
  
• I will put my FULL name on any paperwork that is turned in to my teacher
  
  
• On Production days I will use ALL of the time available during a block to work on my project, and will not leave class early until the project is absolutely completed.
  
  
• I understand that if class time is not enough time to finish my work, or if I have missed a class (or classes,) I may need to use free blocks to catch up on my work.
