Class Policies
- Food
- No food or drinks, snacks etc. at or BELOW the workstations. You may keep food at the center or side tables as long as the class continues to clean up after themselves. Please dispose of bottles wrappers etc. properly.
- Music and Audio
- During studio time, you may listen to music using headphones, but not the computer speakers. The same applies for editing of music or sound effects etc.
- Presentations
- There will be many presentations for this class. During presentations please gather in the center of the classroom away from the workstations. Please gather quickly and make it easy for your classmates to bring their chairs into the center. Please do not wear earphones during presentations.
- Leaving the Classroom
- I am responsible for you during your class time. When a housemaster or anyone comes to talk to you, I do not find it acceptable to have to tell them that I don’t know where you are. If you need to go to the rest room, nurse, etc, please let me know before you leave.
- Cutting class (unexcused absences)
- Quizzes and assignments missed due to cuts cannot be made up.
- Attendance/Tardiness
- Attendance is important in this class and will affect your performance and grade. It is very important that you come to class on time -especially since most of the new and important information is covered at the beginning of class. I have found that students who often come to class late, do not perform strongly in this course. After your second unexcused tardy you will be required to serve detentions for each subsequent tardy. If you miss class for any reason, it is the your responsibility to make up the work, and may require use of time outside of regular class time.
- Acceptable Use Policy
- The school provides computers, a network and maintenance for educational purposes. It is important that students read, understand and follow the official L-S Computer Network-Acceptable Use Policy.
- Turning in Assignments and Projects
- Most assignments and projects will be turned in to the teacher's public drop box, via the computer network. All files dropped into the teacher's dropbox will be named in a way that follows a provided specific guideline that ALWAYS includes your last name and first initial. Assignment and projects must be turned in as .FLA files, NOT .SWF files. Any source files used to create your image must be turned in as well.
- Time Management
- There may be times when you will need to use the free blocks associated with this class, to complete projects and assignments.
- Web Portfolios
- Twice during the semester, you will be creating an online portfolio of all of your assignments and projects. When turining in you web portfolios, you must put the ENTIRE web portfolio FOLDER (including images, thumbnails and HTM files) into my dropbox. The HTM files alone are useless without the other components.
- STATEMENT OF AGREEMENT
- I have read, understand and agree to follow the policies described above, and I know where to find a copy of these policies online.
