Entry #1 –Sunday Sept 7, 2003
I watched the Patriots game on CBS today. It is always fun to just relax and cheer for your team, especially when you’re with friends, making it a good way to get together just to hang out. It is usually a good time and a fun experience (although not this particular Sunday.) I did notice however that there were commercials pretty often, and they were mostly commercials for the same products being played over and over again (especially Ford F150 commercials these past few weeks, we often saw it on several channels at once, making it impossible not to watch it.) There were also many commercial for products such as chips and especially beer that show crazy parties with beautiful women enjoying the product, as though buying something will automatically lead to this kind of life.

Entry #2 – Monday Sept 8, 2003
Watched the Simpsons today, it is by far my favorite show. However recent episodes have not been as good as old ones, as writers are adding more of the “FOX attitude”, often resorting to more crude and obvious jokes than the clever and often subtle ironies of older episodes. It is also interesting that some clips of shows like the Simpsons are not aired in the United States for fear of losing sponsors. I have heard of several cases of this, and have seen this in one Simpsons episode. I still enjoy watching these kinds of shows though because they are entertaining without requiring much thought, and they can often help me relax. Once again, commercials were annoying, but in some ways convenient, I was able to make a sandwich.

do you think that a video game that is non-violent, gender neutral, or free of stereotypes would sell?

Video games are successfull
by being non intellectual
but some sexual.

Video games without violence
to the makers nonsense.

Men like their toys
and video games are toys for young boys.

Violence, action and adventure are the game's main themes
without these corporations wouldn't have there schemes.

so they can keep bringin in the green.
It boils down to what sells and what profits
to make a game without any type of problems can't stop it
why because people like to watch it.

--Matthew, Grade 12
