The 1950's was full of
Racial discrimination
It was a period when people felt
They weren't part of this nation.

A well-done movie, Pleasantville
Discussed problems between race-
Problems that people everywhere
Are working to erase.

In the 1950's, black people
Were not treated fairly.
Were the coloreds given rights in Pleasantville?
-Barely.

In both situations, people
Discriminated because they were afraid
Of the different types of people
For whom room in society must be made.

Fear created barriers
Between human beings
They fought each other simply
Because of differences they weren't used to seeing.
