The L-S Safety Review Committee was formed as a subcommittee of the L-S School Committee. In setting up this committee, the School Committee gave it the following charge:

"To review, report and make recommendations on all operational, physical and educational aspects of Lincoln-Sudbury as they relate to the safety of students, faculty and staff."

The Committee has interpreted this to mean that it will evaluate what L-S does or needs to do to insure the social, emotional, and physical well-being of all the members of the school community. It will place special emphasis on how the L-S community responds to reports of interpersonal aggression on school grounds and related violations of school policy. The Committee will pay attention to both physical and psychological violence and their precursors.

The Committee has reviewed existing policies, procedures and practices at Lincoln-Sudbury. The Committee has obtained professional and public input relevant to its work.
