The Computer Network
Logging on to a school emac is really putting you on the network: generally onto either the Staff or LSadmin server (depending on your role in the building -- see below).
There are several servers as part of the LS network:
- staff (teachers)
- lsadmin (support staff, special ed, administrators, counselors)
- gy11, gy10, gy09, and gy08 (one server for each graduating class)
- webserver
- ipass
- domain name
- authentication server
When navigating the network, you will be primarily interested in the staff, lsadmin, and student servers. Others will be able to navigate to see your account, so it is important that you save your documents correctly so that they are secure.
